Requirements

Bachelor

Applicants need a high school diploma or certificate, or a letter from their school confirming they have graduated or will graduate that year (plus a passing grade in the Grade 12 Exam, BAC II, for Cambodian applicants), a passport or Cambodian national ID card, four 4x6 photos, and a completed application form. A statement of purpose and a reference letter from a teacher or principal are recommended. Depending on the chosen programme, applicants may need to sit the Paragon.U English Proficiency Test, unless they are exempted with an IELTS score of at least 5.5, a TOEFL iBT score of at least 60, or a GEP Level 12 Certificate from the Australian Center for Education.

Master

Applicants need a bachelor's degree diploma or certificate, a statement of purpose of about 500 words, recommendation letters, and English proficiency evidence: a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 70, an IELTS score of 6.0, or a pass on the Paragon.U English Proficiency Test for applicants without either certificate.

Doctoral (PhD and DBA)

Candidates must hold a master's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant field, with a GPA of 3.00 or higher. They submit a research proposal of about 1,000 words, two academic recommendation letters, and a motivation letter, and must meet the same English proficiency requirement as the master's programmes (TOEFL iBT 70 or IELTS 6.0).

Documents

Bachelor applicants submit: a high school diploma or graduation letter; a passing BAC II result for Cambodian applicants; a passport or Cambodian national ID card; four 4x6 photos; a completed application form; and, if requested, a statement of purpose and a teacher or principal reference letter.

Postgraduate (master's) applicants submit: a bachelor's degree diploma or certificate; a statement of purpose (about 500 words); recommendation letters; and English proficiency evidence (TOEFL iBT 70, IELTS 6.0, or the Paragon.U English Proficiency Test).

Doctoral (PhD and DBA) applicants submit: a master's degree or equivalent; a research proposal (about 1,000 words); two academic recommendation letters; a motivation letter; and evidence of a GPA of 3.00 or higher.

How to apply

  1. Submit the application form (online, or on paper at the campus front desk for a 10 US dollar fee for undergraduate applicants) with the required documents to the Admission Office, in person, by email to admission@paragoniu.edu.kh, or by post.
  2. The Admission Committee reviews the application.
  3. Sit the Paragon.U English Proficiency Test if the programme requires it and no exempting IELTS, TOEFL or GEP certificate is held.
  4. Receive an unconditional or conditional offer; a conditional postgraduate offer can require passing the Paragon.U English Test or supplying additional documents before enrolment.
  5. Enroll, pay the annual registration fee (500 US dollars) and the semester tuition fee.
  6. Begin studies directly, or, if placed there, begin the Foundation Year or English Preparatory Programme first.

English test waiver

Depending on the applied study programme, applicants may be required to sit the Paragon International University English Proficiency Test on campus. Applicants are exempted from that placement test, and from the English Preparatory Programme, if they hold one of: a passing score on the Paragon.U English Proficiency Test itself, an IELTS score of at least 5.5, a TOEFL iBT score of at least 60, or a GEP Level 12 Certificate from the Australian Center for Education. This is an exemption from a foundation-level English placement, not a published minimum score required for admission itself. For postgraduate programmes (master's and doctoral), English proficiency is a direct admission requirement: a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 70 or an IELTS score of 6.0, or a pass on the Paragon.U English Proficiency Test if the applicant holds neither. A conditional postgraduate offer can require the applicant to pass the Paragon.U English Test before enrolling.
