Students with citizenship from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland pay tuition unless an exemption applies, and NMBU offers no scholarships that cover it. The yearly rates are NOK 80,000 for the BSc in International Environment and Development Studies and NOK 150,000 for master's programmes; the supplementary programme for foreign veterinarians is NOK 275,000. Single courses are charged per credit within category 1. The fee is separate from, and in addition to, the NOK 166,859 for the academic year that an applicant must document to get a study permit. Tuition must be paid in full before each academic year and cannot be split into instalments. For applicants admitted through the international round, with offers sent by the end of April, payment is due by 20 May. A student who pays and then has to withdraw can apply for a refund by 15 September. Exemption is automatic for some groups and must be applied for by others, by the deadline in the admission letter.
