Mzumbe University Admission 2026: Deadlines, Fees, Requirements

Admission at a glance

International applicants apply online through the Mzumbe University Online Application and Admission Portal (admission.mzumbe.ac.tz). The university says it does not recognise any application made outside that portal. This record covers the master's degree programmes advertised for the 2026/2027 academic year. They are offered at the Main Campus in Mzumbe, Morogoro, at the Dar es Salaam Campus in Upanga, and at the Mbeya Campus, and they cover public administration, business, economics, law (LL.M), health systems, information technology, applied statistics, data science and related fields. Applicants choose a campus of preference on the online form.

A master's applicant needs a relevant bachelor's degree with a GPA of 2.7 or a B grade from a recognised institution. Holders of a foreign degree need an average of B or above on the Mzumbe scale and must have the degree validated by the Tanzania Commission for Universities. The 2026/2027 master's application window closes on 31 October 2026, for the November intake. Each application carries a non-refundable fee of USD 30 for international applicants. Non-national master's students are charged annual fees to the university of USD 6,000 for most programmes and USD 9,480 for the MSc in Information Technology and Systems, the MSc in Applied Statistics and the MSc in Health Monitoring and Evaluation, and these fees are payable in two instalments at the start of each semester. Applicants whose first language is not English, or who did not study in English, must show they can cope with postgraduate study in English. PhD applications are open throughout the year and non-national PhD students are charged USD 6,000 a year.

Requirements

Bachelor

Bachelor's applications follow the Tanzania Commission for Universities window, which normally begins from early July to late October of each year. Applications are made through the same online portal, and no application is considered after the stated deadline.

Master

• A relevant bachelor's degree (UQF level 8) or equivalent with a GPA of 2.7 or a B grade from a recognised institution of higher learning.
• A foreign degree needs an average of B or above on the Mzumbe scale, and the qualification must be validated by the Tanzania Commission for Universities.
• Some programmes have extra conditions. For example, the MSc in Accounting and Finance needs a solid accounting background, and the MSc in Health Monitoring and Evaluation needs two years of working experience in health projects and an interview at the Main Campus.
• Applicants whose first language is not English, or who did not go through an education system with English as the medium of instruction, must prove sufficient command of English for postgraduate study.

PhD
