Middle East Technical University Tuition Fees 2027

Middle East Technical University (METU, known locally as ODTU) is a public research university in Ankara that teaches almost entirely in English. International undergraduates apply through their own quota, assessed on SAT, TR-YOS or a small number of other accepted exams and diplomas rather than the exam Turkish citizens sit, and tuition is set as a low, government linked annual fee rather than a market rate.

International undergraduate tuition for the 2025-2026 academic year is USD 1,600 a year in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences' humanities departments, the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences and the Faculty of Education, and USD 2,400 a year in Engineering, Architecture and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences' science departments, for students who started their programme in Fall 2023 or later. The fee is quoted in US dollars but charged in Turkish lira, converted at the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye's effective selling rate about a week before each semester's payment window; if that conversion falls under the government's minimum tuition floor for the year, the higher floor applies instead. A student who overruns their programme's normal length by more than two extra semesters is billed at 1.5 times the listed rate. No undergraduate application fee is stated on METU's International Students Office pages.
