International applicants who want a full degree at Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) in Jelgava apply online through the International Cooperation Centre rather than through an individual faculty. Bachelor's programmes taught in English are Biosystems Machinery and Technologies, Information Technologies for Sustainable Development, and Sociology of Organizations and Public Administration; all three require completed secondary education, and the two applied-science programmes also require at least a satisfactory secondary-school grade in Mathematics plus an online subject entrance test, while the sociology programme requires an online aptitude test. Master's programmes taught in English are Information Technologies, Food Science, Business Management, Sociology of Organizations and Public Administration, Geoinformatics and Remote Sensing, and Human Resource Management and Career Counselling, each open to holders of a relevant bachelor's degree; master's applicants skip the entrance exam but, like bachelor's applicants, must complete a recorded online motivation interview. LBTU also runs a six-year, English-taught integrated Veterinary Medicine programme admitting directly from secondary education. Every applicant submits a passport copy, certified education documents with a notarized English translation where needed, proof of English proficiency, and the application fee, then waits for Latvia's Academic Information Centre to recognise the foreign diploma before LBTU issues an acceptance letter and a tuition fee invoice.

Requirements

Bachelor

  • Completed secondary education that qualifies the applicant for higher education in their home country.
  • Biosystems Machinery and Technologies (Bachelor Degree of Mechanical Engineering, 180 ECTS, 3 years): at least a "satisfactory" grade in Mathematics, plus an online entrance test in Mathematics.
  • Information Technologies for Sustainable Development (Professional Bachelor Degree in Information Technologies, 240 ECTS, 4 years): at least a "satisfactory" grade in Mathematics, plus an online entrance test in computer sciences.
  • Sociology of Organizations and Public Administration (Bachelor Degree, 180 ECTS, 3 years): an online aptitude test in social sciences.
  • English proficiency for all three bachelor's programmes: CEFR level B2, IELTS 6.0, TOEFL PBT 547, or TOEFL iBT 80 (stated identically on each programme page).

Master

  • A relevant bachelor's degree (professional or academic, depending on the programme) or equivalent higher education.
