Admission at a glance
Sechenov University's International department admits foreign applicants to full-time specialist programmes in General Medicine (6 years), Dentistry (5 years) and Pharmacy (5 years) that are taught in English for the 2026/2027 academic year. Other profiles of these programmes are taught in Russian. Applicants choose a programme, submit documents through the ruID app and the Gosuslugi portal, the applicant's personal account, by post or in person, take the entrance exams and score at least the minimum passing points, then request and sign a contract and pay for training.
For 2026/2027 the International department lists the timeframe for receiving documents as June 20 to August 18, 2026, admission tests from June 21 to August 20, publication of the competition list on August 22, the deadline for receiving original documents on August 27, and the deadline for the enrolment order on August 28, 2026. The university's admissions page says the final deadline varies according to the applicant's admission conditions. Applicants may choose Russian or English as the language of the entrance examination for specialist programmes. The entrance tests for General Medicine and Dentistry are computer tests in Chemistry and Russian language, with a minimum passing score of 55 in each.
Required documents include the passport with a notarised Russian translation, the education certificate with consular legalisation or an apostille and a notarised translation, the certificate of recognition of foreign education, a certificate of absence of HIV-1 infection translated into Russian, and a medical form of eligibility for studying in Russia. The university itself does not give scholarships, discounts or grants; the only scholarships are government ones, such as the quota of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
