Requirements
Bachelor
Sechenov University's first degrees for foreign applicants are specialist programmes.
- Programmes taught in English for 2026/2027: General Medicine (6 years), Dentistry (5 years), Pharmacy (5 years), all full-time.
- Entrance exams for General Medicine and Dentistry: Chemistry and Russian language computer tests, minimum passing score 55 each. Pharmacy: minimum 45 each.
- The language of the examination can be Russian or English.
- No IELTS or other language certificate is required.
Master
The admissions page lists master's programmes taught in Russian, each with its own entrance test. The English-taught programmes named for 2026/2027 are the specialist programmes above.
Documents
- Passport and its notarised translation into Russian.
- Education certificate with consular legalisation or an apostille (not needed for certificates obtained in the Russian Federation).
- Notarised translation of the education certificate into Russian.
- Certificate of recognition of foreign education.
- Certificate of absence of HIV-1 infection translated into Russian.
- Medical form of eligibility for studying in Russia.
How to apply
- Choose the programme.
- Submit the documents through ruID and the Gosuslugi portal, the applicant's personal account, by post or in person (June 20 to August 18, 2026 for 2026/2027).
- Take the entrance exams and score at least the minimum passing points.
- Request the contract in the applicant account and receive the invoice.
- Sign the contract and pay the tuition fee.
- Prepare your travel to Moscow.
English test waiver
Sechenov University does not ask for an IELTS or other language certificate. Its admissions page states that no language certificate (IELTS or other) is required. Applicants to specialist and master's programmes may choose Russian or English as the language of the entrance examination. The English-taught programmes for 2026/2027 are General Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy, and the other profiles of those programmes are taught in Russian. The entrance tests for General Medicine and Dentistry are computer tests in Chemistry and Russian language, each with a minimum passing score of 55.
