Hanken School of Economics Admission Requirements 2027

Hanken School of Economics is Finland's Swedish-language business school, with campuses in Helsinki and Vaasa, and teaches a bachelor's and several master's programmes in English. Tuition is EUR 12,000 a year for the bachelor's and EUR 15,000 for master's, cut by 25 per cent for students who accept and pay within 21 days, and master's applicants with a business degree from abroad can use a rolling round that runs from December to April.

English test waiver

Hanken sets different English bars for its bachelor's and master's levels and names only the tests it accepts. For the bachelor's programme a language test needs TOEFL iBT 78, including the Home Edition, IELTS Academic 6.0, including IELTS Online and UKVI, PTE Academic 54, Cambridge C1 Advanced at grade C, or C2 Proficiency at C1. Bachelor's applicants admitted on aptitude tests need no separate language test: SAT with at least 600 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, or ACT with at least 49 in English and Reading, covers it. For master's programmes the test route asks for TOEFL iBT 92 and IELTS Academic 6.5. Hanken accepts neither IELTS One Skill Retake nor TOEFL MyBest scores. A degree from an EU or EEA country, Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Switzerland, New Zealand or the United States can be accepted as proof instead of a test. ⚠️ Hanken's page lists more than one PTE figure in its master's section; confirm the PTE minimum for the specific master's route before booking that test.
