Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Doha's Education City was founded in 2010 and focuses on graduate study. Tuition is charged per credit hour: QAR 4,000 for science, engineering and health programmes, so a two-year MSc such as Data Science and Engineering costs QAR 132,000 in total, and QAR 2,500 for humanities, Islamic studies and public policy. International graduate applicants apply between 1 October 2026 and 1 February 2027.
HBKU-sponsored graduate students receive tuition waivers of 100% for PhD programmes, 75% for science and health master's programmes and 60% for humanities, Islamic studies and public policy master's programmes. International students with stipends receive QAR 7,000 a month for master's study and QAR 9,000 for PhD study, in return for 10 hours a week as research assistants. Awards are not guaranteed and depend on available funds.
