Admission at a glance
Foreign applicants apply to GIK Institute's undergraduate programmes through the same online admissions portal used by local applicants, choosing between engineering and computing programmes (which are assessed through the Institute's own admission test covering Physics, Mathematics and English) and the BS Management Sciences programme (assessed through the GIK Common Admissions Test). Academic eligibility is based on qualifications such as HSSC, A-Levels, O-Levels, an American or Canadian High School Diploma, or an International Baccalaureate Diploma, each with a minimum 60 percent mark or equivalent grade in the required subjects; applicants presenting O-Level qualifications from abroad need five specified subjects including English, rather than the eight required of local applicants. All foreign qualifications require an equivalence certificate from the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC). After applying online and paying the processing fee, applicants sit the relevant admission test at a test centre, and merit lists are prepared from a weighted combination of the test score and prior academic results. Admitted foreign applicants pay an admission fee of US$680 and an annual tuition fee of US$5,000, in place of the Pakistani-rupee fees charged to local applicants.
