Requirements

Bachelor

Candidates for the BS Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Cyber Security and Data Science programmes need HSSC, A-Level, O-Level, American/Canadian High School Diploma, International Baccalaureate Diploma, or DAE qualifications with at least 60 percent marks (or the stated equivalent grades) in the required subjects, and must sit the Institute's own admission test covering Physics, Mathematics and English. Applicants presenting O-Level qualifications from abroad need five specified subjects (English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Computer Science or IT), compared with eight subjects for local applicants. For BS Management Sciences, candidates need HSSC or equivalent qualifications with at least 60 percent overall marks and must sit the GIK Common Admissions Test (GCAT). IBCC equivalence is required for all foreign qualifications, including O- and A-Levels.

Master

GIK Institute's MS and PhD programmes admit students under Day Scholar or Graduate Assistantship schemes, with tuition and admission fees stated in Pakistani rupees only; no separate tuition or application-fee figure is published for foreign graduate applicants. The most recently published graduate application deadline was for the Fall 2026 semester, closing July 31, 2026.

Documents

Applicants complete the online application form, upload a recent colour photograph on a blue background, and pay the admission-test processing fee via bank challan (payable in US dollars for applicants paying from abroad, through the Institute's designated Habib Bank Limited account). Foreign qualification holders must submit an IBCC equivalence certificate for their academic credentials, including for O-Level and A-Level results. Admitted applicants send checklisted documents to the admissions office and, for foreign applicants, pay the separate US-dollar admission and tuition fees before the start of the semester.

How to apply

1. Review the eligibility criteria for the chosen undergraduate programme.
2. Register and submit the online application form through admissions.giki.edu.pk.
3. Print the bank challan and pay the processing fee (or pay in US dollars via the Institute's designated bank account for applicants abroad).
4. Sit the relevant admission test (the Institute's own entry test for engineering and computing programmes, or the GIK Common Admissions Test for Management Sciences) at a chosen test centre.
5. Check the admission test result and merit list online.
6. If offered admission, send the checklisted documents, including IBCC equivalence certificates for foreign qualifications, to the admissions office.
7. Pay the admission fee and first-semester tuition fee before the start of classes.

English test waiver

GIK Institute does not publish an IELTS or TOEFL minimum for admission. Its own undergraduate admission test includes an English component alongside Pakistani intermediate-level Physics and Mathematics. Applicants presenting O-Level qualifications from abroad must include English among the required subjects (five subjects for those applying from abroad, versus eight for local applicants, both including English).
