Universidad Complutense de Madrid Tuition Fees 2027

UCM is Spain's largest public university, based in Madrid, with degrees mostly taught in Spanish and a smaller set of English-taught master's programmes. Non-EU applicants use the national UNEDasiss and homologacion routes for bachelor access and a separate degree-equivalence check for master's access, and pay a per-credit non-resident tuition rate set by the Community of Madrid that is several times the resident rate.

UCM charges tuition per ECTS credit, at a price the Community of Madrid fixes each year by decree, and non-resident foreign students over 18 (excluding EU/EEA nationals) are charged the highest bracket regardless of how many times they are actually enrolled: the fourth-enrollment rate for bachelor degrees and regulated professional master's degrees, and the third-enrollment rate for other master's degrees. For 2026-27 the confirmed non-resident bachelor rates are EUR 136.44 a credit for the highest-cost (Sciences/Level 1) degrees, EUR 128.57 for Level 2 (engineering and technical) degrees, and EUR 113.71 for Level 3 (humanities and social science) degrees; a full 60-credit bachelor year therefore costs roughly EUR 6,823 to EUR 8,186 depending on the degree. For general (non-regulated) master's degrees the non-resident rate is EUR 84.07 a credit, or roughly EUR 5,044 for a 60-credit year; regulated professional master's degrees (such as teacher training or the bar-admission master) instead use the bachelor-style bracket, from EUR 113.71 to EUR 136.44 a credit depending on the field. These figures are before administrative and health-insurance charges, which UCM lists separately on its enrolment pages.
