Requirements

Bachelor (integrated Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy programmes)

• A high-school diploma from an accredited school in the country of origin, valid for university admission there and recognised by the Romanian Ministry of Education.
• For English or French-taught programmes: proof of CEFR B2 language competence via a recognised certificate (no older than 2 years), a school-leaving certificate confirming secondary education was completed in that language, a qualifying baccalaureate grade, or the university's own paid language test.
• Online registration and file submission through the university's admission platform (fsa.umfcd.ro) within the announced session dates; documents sent by post, courier or email are not accepted.
• A compulsory online interview (15-30 minutes), conducted in English for the English-taught track, based on the published scientific topics for the admission interview.
• Payment of the non-refundable competition registration fee.
• For non-EU citizens: a valid passport, and, after admission, a Letter of Acceptance issued by Romania's Ministry of Education and a Type D study visa obtained from a Romanian embassy before enrolment; full first-year tuition must be paid before the visa can be issued.
• Original documents, translated and legalised or apostilled into Romanian, must be presented in person at the International Students Service for final enrolment in year 1.

Master

The international admission pages found on the university's site (admission-2026-2027-academic-year and the related Romanian-language admission hub) describe only the integrated bachelor's-level ("licenta") programmes in Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy for non-EU and EU international applicants. UMFCD does run separate master's programmes (for example in medical-social management, medical biophysics, nutrition and food safety, and clinical trial monitoring), but no dedicated international-student admission procedure, deadline or fee for a master's-level programme aimed at non-EU applicants was found, so this section is left without invented figures.

Documents

The university's English-taught programme methodology requires, among other items: a completed application form (Annex 1) and declaration (Annex 2) generated on the admission platform; a GDPR consent form; a copy of the high-school diploma (or equivalent) with a certified translation into Romanian, apostilled or super-legalised depending on the issuing country; supporting transcripts; a birth certificate with certified Romanian translation; a valid passport copy; proof of the required B2 language certification (Annex 3 lists the certificates UMFCD accepts) or the university's own language test result; the standard request form for the Letter of Acceptance to study (for non-EU citizens); and proof of payment of the non-refundable registration fee. All documents except the passport and the language certificate must be accompanied by an authorised, notarised Romanian translation; translations from an intermediate language must be accompanied by the original-language version as well. Documents sent by mail, courier or email are not accepted; everything must go through the online admission platform, and the complete physical file must later be handed in personally at the International Students Service for year-1 enrolment.

How to apply

1. Access the admission platform at fsa.umfcd.ro during the announced registration window and create an account.
2. Complete the required sections and upload the documents listed in the annex for English-taught programmes.
3. Submit the file for verification by the International Students Service, which checks that all documents are present and compliant; incomplete files receive a correction request and must be fixed within the legal deadline or are invalidated.
4. Pay the non-refundable competition registration fee (2,500 RON) by bank card through the platform.
5. Attend the compulsory online interview (15-30 minutes, in English for the English-taught track) during the scheduled interview window, using a stable audio-video connection the candidate is responsible for arranging.
6. Wait for the provisional ranking, published on the university's website in descending order of score.
7. If ranked as admitted, confirm the seat by paying 50% of the tuition fee within the confirmation window.
8. Non-EU citizens obtain a Letter of Acceptance from Romania's Ministry of Education and pay the full first-year tuition fee, then apply for a Type D student visa at a Romanian embassy.
9. Present the complete file in original, in person, to the International Students Service for final enrolment in year 1, along with the signed study contract.

English test waiver

The university does not publish an IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or Duolingo minimum score. Its own admission methodology requires proof of language competence through one of three routes: (1) an internationally recognised language certificate, no older than 2 years, explicitly showing at least CEFR level B2, from the university's own accepted-certificates annex; (2) a certificate from the applicant's high school confirming that secondary education was completed in English; or (3) proof of at least a B2 grade in English obtained as part of the baccalaureate examination. Applicants who cannot document B2 by these routes can instead sit the university's own paid language test (500 EUR) during the admission process.
