Requirements

Bachelor's degree

One of: SAT (minimum combined score depends on faculty, from 1200 for the Faculty of Education up to 1350 with at least 700 in Math for the Engineering Faculty and 1300 for the Faculty of Science); TR-YOS with a minimum of 450 out of 500; or GCE A Level results in three relevant subjects. All test results are valid for two years from the exam date. A high school diploma or graduation certificate and an official transcript are required alongside the test score.

English proficiency

Assessed separately from admission through TOEFL iBT (at least 79 overall, at least 22 on writing), IELTS Academic (at least 6.5 overall and on writing), or the university's own Bogazici University English Proficiency Test (BUEPT) sat after arrival.

Documents

Official SAT, TR-YOS or GCE A Level result within its two year validity. Official high school transcript. High school diploma or graduation certificate. Statement of Purpose written in English. Passport copy for foreign nationals, or proof of residency abroad plus a Blue Card copy where relevant for Turkish citizens and dual nationals educated outside Turkiye. Application fee payment receipt (EUR 100 or its Turkish lira equivalent, per programme applied to).

How to apply

  1. Sit the SAT, TR-YOS or GCE A Level, or confirm an existing result is inside its two year validity window.
  2. Gather the official transcript, diploma or graduation certificate, statement of purpose, and passport copy or residency proof.
  3. Apply online through Bogazici University's Students From Abroad application system and pay the EUR 100 application fee per programme.
  4. If not already holding an accepted English score, plan to sit the Bogazici University English Proficiency Test (BUEPT) after arrival, or submit TOEFL iBT (79 overall, 22 writing) or IELTS Academic (6.5 overall and writing) beforehand.
  5. On admission, register for the semester offered; students who do not clear the English requirement attend the English Preparatory Programme at YADYOK before starting their degree.
  6. After registering, apply for a residence permit through e-ikamet.

English test waiver

Applicants who do not meet these minimums, or who have not taken an external test, sit the Bogazici University English Proficiency Test (BUEPT) instead, generally after arrival. Anyone who does not clear the requirement through BUEPT, TOEFL or IELTS attends the English Preparatory Programme at YADYOK before starting subject courses.
