Requirements
Bachelor
A qualifying upper secondary exam recognised as equivalent to the Danish gymnasium exam, plus any subject specific prerequisites set by the individual programme. English proficiency equivalent to English B level for English taught programmes.
Master
A relevant bachelor's degree, normally at least 180 ECTS credits, meeting the specific programme's academic prerequisites. English proficiency equivalent to English B level: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall, or TOEFL iBT 83; Cambridge English scores of 180 or above are also accepted.
Documents
Passport copy, secondary school or degree transcripts and certificates, proof of English proficiency or an exemption, and, for non-EU/EEA/Swiss applicants, proof of application fee payment. Individual programmes may ask for a CV, a motivation letter or references.
How to apply
- Check the entry requirements and language of instruction for the chosen programme on Aarhus University's own pages.
- Apply through optagelse.dk for a bachelor's programme, or directly through Aarhus University for a master's programme.
- Non-EU/EEA/Swiss applicants pay the EUR 150 application fee and submit documents by 15 January (master's) or 15 March (bachelor's).
- EU/EEA/Swiss applicants and holders of a qualifying Danish residence permit apply by 1 March (master's).
- Receive the admission decision and, if a fee paying student, pay the first tuition instalment.
- Apply for a Danish residence permit for study through SIRI once tuition is paid or a scholarship is confirmed.
English test waiver
Applicants who completed a full prior degree taught in English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK or the USA can be exempt from a separate English test.
