Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science & Technology University, briefly HSTU locally known as Hajee Danesh University, is a popular Science & Technology-based public university in Bangladesh. It is a state-supported university that is 14th public and 2nd Science & Technology university established on 11 September 1999.
There is a total of 11,000 students taking higher study from here. Though HUST started its operation with some departments and faculty, it is now expanding 9 faculties to 45 departments and offers 23 degrees to the students.

About Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science & Technology University
Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science & Technology University has turned into its present form after a long journey. First, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science & Technology University appeared as an Agricultural Extension Training Institute (AETI) in 1979 to offer a 3-year diploma course in Agriculture.
Later, this institution was promoted as a degree-providing institution named Hajee Mohammad Danesh Agricultural College. The then Prime Minister, Observing the improvement of the University and based on the eagerly public demands of the area, declared the college as a Science & Technology University in February 1999.
Then the Ministry of Education takes over the charge of the University. Finally, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated this university’s activities by setting the foundation stone on 11 September 1999. 1999-2000 is the first academic year of the University.
The Act of the University was passed on 8 July 2001 in the Jatio Shongsad (National Assembly) was, followed by a gazette notification on 8 April 2002.

Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science & Technology University stands away from the urban din and bustle at a beautiful and scenic location some 13 km north of Dinajpur town by the intercity highway that links Dinajpur to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
HSTU has a vast campus of about 85 acres, where all the activities include administrative and academic activities.
