Scholarships to Study in Indonesia (2027)

Indonesia's leading public universities charge foreign undergraduates roughly IDR 15 million to IDR 67 million a semester in 2026-27, plus a one-time development fee, and run international classes taught in English. Foreign degree students need an E30B student visa sponsored by the university, a limited stay permit (ITAS) and a Ministry study permit, and may not work while studying. The government's KNB Scholarship funds bachelor's, master's and doctoral study for students from developing countries.

The Indonesian government's KNB Scholarship funds bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees at 47 partner universities, covering tuition, monthly living expenses, an arrival allowance, book and research allowances, travel at arrival and graduation, and monthly health insurance. Age limits are 21 for bachelor's, 35 for master's and 40 for doctoral applicants, with English minimums from IELTS 5.5 to 6.0. Classes are in Indonesian after up to a year of language study, family members cannot come, and awardees must return home within 60 days of graduating. The 2026 window was 2 February to 31 March 2026. Universitas Indonesia's New UI GREAT scholarship gives foreign master's students a tuition waiver and, at full level, a IDR 3,500,000 monthly allowance.
