Requirements

Bachelor / Integrated programmes

Applicants must have completed secondary or secondary professional education. Entry to the first year requires passing two of three entrance test exams, chosen by the applicant: Physics, Chemistry or Biology, each based on the secondary school exam programme. The test is 60 minutes long with 50 questions; the pass mark is 26 correct answers. This applies to applicants to General Medicine, Stomatology and the Pharmacy Bachelor's degree. Indian applicants must additionally hold NEET qualification, and Sri Lankan applicants must sit all three subject exams (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) rather than two.

Master

The one-year Pharmacy Master's degree is listed in the same foreign-citizen tuition schedule as the Bachelor's programmes and follows the same application route through fs.emis.am. YSMU's foreign-citizen admission page does not set out separate entrance-exam subjects for this programme beyond the general foreign-citizen admission procedure.

Documents

Passport photocopy; a recent photo of the applicant; for Diaspora Armenians, a notarised photocopy of the birth certificate or a baptismal certificate; a notarised, apostilled or consularly certified translation of the secondary school graduation certificate; a medical certificate or proof of insurance; a curriculum vitae (CV); a Unified Examination Certificate where applicable; and, for male applicants, a document on military service. Applicants who are family members of diplomats in diplomatic service must also submit their graduation certificate.

How to apply

  1. Register on fs.emis.am and complete the applicant questionnaire with personal, educational and family details.
  2. Upload the required documents (passport, graduation certificate translation, medical certificate, CV, photo).
  3. Wait for application approval; applicants approved by 30 September 2026 are scheduled for entrance exams on 1 to 2 October 2026 at the University.
  4. Sit the required entrance exams (two of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or three for Sri Lankan applicants).
  5. Applicants who do not pass can apply to the Department of Foreign Students' Preparatory Education for a 32-week preparatory course before enrolling.
  6. On acceptance, sign the study contract, arrange annual medical insurance, and apply for a residence permit and, if required, an entry visa through an Armenian embassy or consulate.

English test waiver

Teaching at YSMU is conducted in Armenian, Russian or English. YSMU does not publish an IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or Duolingo minimum score for foreign applicants. Its 2026-2027 entrance exam schedule for foreign citizens lists an English exam on 1 October 2026 at 11:00, alongside the Biology, Chemistry and Physics exams, with results announced the same day at the University. In the Department of Foreign Students' Preparatory Education, a test evaluates the level of English for studies conducted in English, and students are divided into groups according to the result.
