University of Würzburg Admission Requirements 2027 for International Students

The University of Würzburg (JMU) is a public university in Bavaria with a long research tradition in medicine and the natural sciences, home to several Nobel laureates. Unlike TU Munich and FAU, it charges no tuition fee to non-EU students as of this verification.

Requirements

Bachelor's

How to apply

Choose a bachelor's or master's programme and check its specific deadline, since some English-taught master's programmes diverge from the standard dates.
Apply for a preliminary review (VPD) through uni-assist first if your qualification is from outside Germany.
Submit your application inside the stated window; most programmes with local admission restrictions close 15 July for the winter semester and 15 January for the summer semester, and many master's programmes are considered on a rolling basis with a decision within about two months.
Upload certified copies of your certificates, transcripts and language certificate.
If admitted, pay the semester fee, arrange health insurance, and apply for a student visa if coming from outside the EU or EEA.
