The University of Tokyo Application Deadlines 2027

The University of Tokyo (UTokyo) is Japan's oldest and most internationally known national university. Its Programs in English at Komaba (PEAK) undergraduate track closed after its September 2026 intake, and from September 2027 the new UTokyo College of Design opens as the university's first fully English-taught undergraduate faculty in about 70 years, alongside long-running English-taught master's and doctoral programmes across many graduate schools.

First-ever intake for the new UTokyo College of Design (CoD), a five-year integrated bachelor's/master's faculty taught entirely in English, replacing PEAK as UTokyo's English-taught undergraduate route (PEAK's last cohort started September 2026). Route A applicants sit in-person screening in mid-February 2027; Route B (online) applicants are interviewed in January 2027.
