Wits accepts the IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5, and in exceptional cases TOEFL with 600 on the paper-based, 250 on the computer-based or 100 on the internet-based test, or the Cambridge CAE with at least 185. A pass in English at South African higher grade matriculation level, or in English Language at GCSE, GCE or IGCSE ordinary level or equivalent, can be presented instead of a test.
