The University of the West Indies, Mona Admission Requirements 2027

The University of the West Indies, Mona in Kingston, Jamaica, welcomed its first 33 medical students in October 1948. For 2026/2027, international students pay USD 15,000 a year for most undergraduate and graduate programmes and USD 28,000 a year for Medicine and Dental Surgery. There is no charge to apply for undergraduate study, and graduate applications for January 2027 entry close on 31 October 2026.

English test waiver

Applicants whose first language is not English must provide satisfactory evidence of competence in English: IELTS with a minimum total of 6.5, or TOEFL 500 paper-based or 82 with section minimums of 22 in writing and 20 in reading, listening and speaking. Applicants without a top grade in CSEC English A, GCE O Level or BGCSE English Language, or CAPE Communication Studies or the GCE General Paper, take an English Language Proficiency Test on entry.
