Requirements

Bachelor

  • Academic qualification equivalent to the entry standard for the chosen course (Australian Year 12, IB Diploma or an accepted overseas secondary or tertiary qualification)
  • English language proficiency at IELTS Academic 6.5 overall, no band below 6.0, or an accepted equivalent (higher for Education, Law, Media and Communication, Nursing and Veterinary Science)
  • Any course-specific supplementary requirement such as a personal statement, portfolio, audition or interview

Documents

Academic transcripts and certificates (translated by a NAATI-accredited or equivalent translator if not in English), evidence of English language proficiency, a copy of the passport identity page, and any supplementary material requested for the course.

How to apply

  1. Search for the course and confirm its entry requirements.
  2. Consider student visa requirements and, if needed, a pathway or foundation program.
  3. Check the relevant key date for the intake.
  4. Apply directly to the university or through an authorised agent and pay the application fee.
  5. Accept an unconditional offer, or satisfy the condition on a conditional offer.
  6. Arrange Overseas Student Health Cover.
  7. Pay first semester fees by the payment date and enrol.
  8. Apply for the student visa.

English test waiver

Some faculties set a higher bar: Education, Law and Media and Communication require 7.5 overall with no subscore below 7.0, and Nursing and Veterinary Science require 7.0 across all four skills. The university publishes a concordance table to convert the IELTS requirement into TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, LanguageCert Academic and Cambridge C1/C2 equivalents.
