University of Strasbourg Admission Requirements 2027

The University of Strasbourg is a public university close to the German and Swiss borders, formed from a 2009 merger of three Strasbourg universities. It charges non-EU students the government's full differentiated tuition rate, with exemptions limited to specific categories such as PhD students, refugees and long-term French residents.

Requirements

Bachelor's (Licence)

A secondary diploma equivalent to the French baccalaureat, and a B1 French certificate (TCF or DELF) for non-native French speakers, since almost all courses are taught in French. First-year applicants use Parcoursup or DAP.

Master's

A bachelor's degree or equivalent. Applicants from Etudes en France countries use that platform; a Bangladeshi applicant uses eCandidat or Mon Master instead.

Documents

Academic transcripts and diplomas, passport copy, motivation letter, academic references, and a French test certificate (TCF or DELF, B1 minimum) for non-native French speakers.

How to apply

Check whether the programme is first-year bachelor's (Parcoursup or DAP), a later bachelor's year, or a master's (Etudes en France, eCandidat or Mon Master depending on country).
As a Bangladeshi applicant, use the DAP route for first-year bachelor's entry, and eCandidat or Mon Master for later years and master's programmes.
Pay the EUR 23 non-refundable application/administration fee as part of the application.
Wait for the admission decision; if not automatically exempt from the differentiated fee, decide whether to request an individual exemption.
Apply for the student visa once admitted.

English test waiver

The University of Strasbourg teaches almost all programmes in French and asks non-native applicants for a B1 French certificate (TCF or DELF); its international admissions overview does not state an institution-wide IELTS or TOEFL minimum. A small number of programmes offer some English-medium instruction, with their own requirements.
