University of Southern Denmark Admission Requirements 2027

The University of Southern Denmark is based in Odense with additional campuses across southern and central Denmark. Non-EU, non-EEA and non-Swiss master's applicants apply by 1 February for a September start and pay tuition set by faculty, from EUR 10,800 to EUR 17,300 a year.

Requirements

Bachelor

A foreign qualifying exam recognised as equivalent to Danish upper secondary level, plus programme specific subject prerequisites. English taught programmes at English B level ask for IELTS Academic 6.5 (no section below 6.5) or TOEFL iBT 100 (no section below 20); a smaller number of programmes set the higher English A level, IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL iBT 100.

Master

A relevant bachelor's degree meeting the specific programme's academic prerequisites, listed on each programme's own page. English proficiency for English taught programmes: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall, or TOEFL iBT 88.

Documents

Passport copy, transcripts and certificates for secondary and, for master's applicants, tertiary education, proof of English (or Danish, for Danish taught programmes) proficiency, and proof of the EUR 200 application fee payment for non-EU/EEA/Swiss applicants. Individual programmes may ask for a CV, motivation letter or portfolio.

Apply through optagelse.dk for a bachelor's programme, or directly through SDU for a master's programme.
Pay the EUR 200 application fee if you are a non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizen.
Submit all documents by 15 March (bachelor's) or 1 February for a September master's start (1 September for a February start).
Receive the admission decision.
Accept the offer, pay the first year's tuition if a fee paying student, and apply for a Danish residence permit for study through SIRI.
