University of Malta Admission 2027: Deadlines, Fees, Requirements

The University of Malta runs its main intake in October and publishes a deadline for each course, with an earlier cut-off for applicants from outside the EU who need a visa to travel to Malta. For the October 2026 intake the general deadline was 22 July 2026 at 2pm, with late applications to 15 September for courses that accept them, but the deadline for non-EU applicants requiring a visa was 1 July 2026 at 14:00, and those applicants must also submit their English result by 1 July; for February entry the English deadline for visa applicants is 10 November. Medicine is stricter: overseas applicants had to apply by 30 January 2026 at 14:00, and late applications are not accepted. The October 2027 dates had not been published when this page was checked. Applicants holding overseas qualifications pay an application processing fee of EUR 100 up to the first deadline and EUR 200 for a late application. Tuition is listed in each course overview. After admission, a non-EU student needs a national long-stay D visa before arriving and then a residence permit, and University of Malta students are exempt from the private health insurance that other students need for the permit. English is required at IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80 for undergraduate courses and IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 95 for postgraduate courses.
