Universidad de Granada Admission Requirements 2027

UGR is one of Spain's largest public universities, based in the city of Granada, teaching mainly in Spanish with a growing number of bilingual and English-taught master's programmes. Non-EU bachelor applicants need their secondary certificate homologated (or a receipt showing homologation was requested) before applying through Andalusia's shared university admission system, and Andalusia is one of the autonomous communities that does not charge international students a separate, higher credit price.

Requirements

Bachelor

Applicants from a country without an international access agreement with Spain: homologation of the secondary certificate by Spain's Ministry of Education (or a receipt showing it has been requested), plus a UNEDasiss accreditation converting the foreign access score to the Spanish scale.
Apply through Distrito Unico Andaluz, the shared admission system for Andalusia's public universities.
Programme-specific language requirements, generally B1 in a foreign language for Spanish-taught degrees under the Andalusian Council of Universities' agreement.

Master

A bachelor's degree from an EHEA institution, or, for a non-EHEA degree, UGR's own assessment that it is equivalent to a Spanish degree.
Programme-specific academic requirements set by the individual master's degree.
For programmes with an English requirement, a certificate at CEFR B2 or higher; UGR's own table sets this at IELTS 5.5 to 6.5.

Documents

Passport or national ID copy; the homologation certificate or receipt of request, and UNEDasiss accreditation (bachelor applicants); academic transcripts and prior degree certificate, or UGR's equivalence assessment documentation (master applicants); and a language certificate from UGR's own accepted-certificate table matching the specific programme's requirement.

How to apply

Confirm the bachelor access route (homologation plus UNEDasiss) or, for master's, whether the prior degree needs UGR's equivalence assessment.
Start homologation and UNEDasiss registration as early as possible given multi-month processing times.
Apply through Distrito Unico Andaluz (bachelor) or directly through UGR's own master's admission periods, checking the specific programme's language requirement first.
Submit the required documents by the published deadline for the chosen period.
Accept the offer, complete matricula (enrolment) and pay tuition within the published window.
Use the acceptance and enrolment documents to apply for the Spanish national student visa.

English test waiver

UGR's own official table of accepted language certificates, shared under the Andalusian public universities' collaboration agreement on foreign-language accreditation, sets IELTS 5.5 to 6.5 as equivalent to CEFR B2, which is the level most programmes with an English requirement ask for; Spanish-taught bachelor degrees generally ask for B1 in a foreign language rather than English specifically, under an agreement of the Andalusian Council of Universities.
