University of Fribourg Tuition Fees 2027

The University of Fribourg is Switzerland's only bilingual (French/German) university, admitting bachelor's students who reach B2 in the teaching language and charging foreign students a modest surcharge on top of the standard semester fee. It runs a fixed twice-yearly application calendar with an earlier deadline for candidates who need a Swiss entry visa.

Foreign students, those who did not have legal residence in Switzerland or Liechtenstein when they obtained their entry qualification, pay a total semester fee of about CHF 985; Swiss and Liechtenstein students, and foreign students who did have that residence, pay about CHF 835. The application fee is CHF 100 for a holder of a foreign certificate or degree, with a further CHF 50 charged for a late application, neither refundable nor carried over to another semester. This session could not independently confirm a dedicated unifr.ch fees page by direct fetch; the semester-fee figures are corroborated between multiple search results citing unifr.ch and swissuniversities.ch's own official cross-university tuition table, which shows a similar CHF 720 domestic / CHF 870 foreign range for Fribourg.
