Requirements

Diploma and Bachelor's Degree

• High School Average Minimum Score approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education: 60 percent.
• UDST Academic Placement Test: English score 65 (some Computing and Information Technology programs also require a Math score of 60, plus final-year Mathematics and a final-year Science or Technology subject in secondary school).
• English test exemption is possible with an accepted IELTS score (Overall Band 5, no sub-score below 5.0), TOEFL iBT score (49, no section below 12), or SAT score (480 or higher), each valid for two years from the test date (three years for SAT), or with a valid UDST Placement Test result from the past two years.
• Qatari ID copy required for local applicants; not required for international applicants.

Master's Degree

• A relevant Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, generally with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (specific GPA and work-experience alternatives vary by program and college).
• UDST Academic Placement Test: English score 70, unless exempt through an accepted IELTS score (Overall Band 6, no sub-score below 6.0), TOEFL iBT score (72), or an accredited prior degree that meets UDST's admission requirements.
• Employment certificate confirming minimum required full-time work experience, where the program requires it.

Documents

For undergraduate (Bachelor's or Diploma) applicants:

• Copy of the official high school grade report (Grade 12)
• Copy of passport
• Copy of Qatari ID (not required for international applicants)

For Master's degree applicants:

• Copy of passport
• Copy of Qatari ID (not required for international applicants)
• Academic transcripts related to the bachelor's degree
• An employment certificate from the current employer indicating minimum full-time employment experience in years, where required by the program

For the student visa process (after acceptance):

• Copy of valid passport
• Copy of final high school transcript
• Copy of IELTS or SAT test certificate
• Police clearance certificate from the country of residence

How to apply

1. Review the application deadlines and the list of programs on UDST's own site, and check the admission requirements for the chosen program.
2. Create an account on the UDST Applicant Self-Service Portal and fill out the online application.
3. Book the mandatory UDST Placement Test, unless exempt through an accepted IELTS, TOEFL or SAT score, or a valid UDST Placement Test result from the past two years.
4. Pay the non-refundable 300 QAR application fee.
5. Submit the application with all required documents (see documents_md).
6. Track the application status through the Applicant Self-Service Portal; respond to any requests for additional information by email.
7. If accepted, apply for a UDST-sponsored Student Visa, submitting a passport copy, final high school transcript, IELTS or SAT certificate, and a police clearance certificate from the country of residence.

English test waiver

UDST does not automatically waive the English test requirement for international applicants in the way some other Qatar campuses do (there is no blanket 'English medium, no test required' rule stated on the site). Instead UDST's own Academic Placement Test in English can substitute for IELTS or TOEFL: applicants are exempt from booking the UDST Placement Test if they already hold IELTS, TOEFL or SAT scores that meet UDST's admissions requirements, or a valid UDST Placement Test result from within the past two years. The UDST Academic Placement Test English pass mark used for admission is a score of 65 for most Diploma and Bachelor's programs (70 for some Master's and postgraduate diploma programs), but this is UDST's own internal placement test score, not an IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/Duolingo score, so it is not entered in the score fields above. The IELTS and TOEFL minimums entered above (Overall Band 5, no sub-score below 5.0 for IELTS; 49 with no section below 12 for TOEFL iBT, at Diploma/Bachelor's level) come from UDST's own 'Additional Test Score Requirements' table in its International Student Package brochure, which lists these as the accepted equivalent scores for admission at Diploma/Degree level (Band 6 / TOEFL 72 for Master's level).
