University of Belgrade Admission Requirements 2026

The University of Belgrade, founded in 1808, has 31 faculties and close to 100 study programmes taught in English. Foreign students pay tuition throughout their studies: in 2025/26, Medicine in English cost EUR 8,000 a year, Pharmacy in English EUR 3,500 and the English-taught electrical engineering master's EUR 9,000. Master's applications for 2026/27 run from 1 September to 5 October 2026.

English test waiver

Before enrolling, a foreign student must prove knowledge of Serbian or of the language in which the study programme is taught. The university does not set a single IELTS or TOEFL score. The School of Electrical Engineering's English-taught master's programme asks for English at B2 level, for example the Cambridge Advanced Certificate or IELTS, or completed secondary education in English. The Faculty of Medicine's English-taught programme accepts a certificate of English competence from a language school or institute, and applicants from native English-speaking countries are exempt. Foreign students who want to study in Serbian can first take an intensive Serbian course at the Faculty of Philology.
