University College Cork Admission Requirements 2027

University College Cork is a public university on Ireland's south coast. Non-EU undergraduate tuition for 2026/27 runs from about EUR 11,700 for a one-year nursing add-on degree to EUR 56,100 for graduate-entry medicine, and the general non-EU closing date is 31 May with several courses closing earlier.

Requirements

Bachelor

A secondary school qualification recognised as equivalent to the Leaving Certificate, meeting the subject and grade requirements of the chosen course. Medicine and Dentistry apply through UCC's designated non-EU agents.

Master

A relevant undergraduate honours degree, normally second class honours grade 1 or equivalent GPA.

Documents

Academic transcripts and certificates, evidence of English language proficiency, passport copy, and a completed EU/Non-EU fee status assessment where your status is unclear. A EUR 50 application fee applies to undergraduate applications.

How to apply

  1. Confirm your fee status (EU or non-EU) using UCC's fee assessment form if unsure.
  2. Apply online through UCC's International Office application system from 1 December, paying the EUR 50 fee.
  3. Submit transcripts, English test results and supporting documents before your course's closing date.
  4. Receive a decision; competitive courses can close as soon as places are filled.
  5. Accept your offer, pay the deposit, and apply for your study visa.

English test waiver

General minimum is IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each band, TOEFL iBT 90 with 20 in each section for tests taken before 21 January 2026; the College of Medicine and Health requires 6.5 in each IELTS band and a higher TOEFL score, and Speech and Language Therapy sets a higher bar again. From 21 January 2026, TOEFL uses a new scale, 4.5 overall with 4.5 in each section for most programmes. PTE Academic 63 and Duolingo 120 are also accepted.
