Technical University of Munich Tuition Fees 2027 for International Students

TUM is a public technical university in Munich and one of Germany's best known universities for engineering, natural sciences and technology management. It charges tuition to non-EU students, unlike most German public universities, and asks for a general English test unless the programme assesses language through its own aptitude test.

TUM charges non-EU international students tuition from the 2024/25 winter semester: usually EUR 2,000 to EUR 3,000 a semester for Bachelor's programmes and EUR 4,000 to EUR 6,000 a semester for Master's programmes, with the exact figure set per programme. EU/EEA students and exempt groups do not pay this fee. All students also pay a separate semester contribution to the student union, currently around EUR 97, which is unrelated to tuition. Waiver scholarships and one-off study grants of EUR 500 to EUR 1,800 a semester are available to help with the new fee.

Applying through uni-assist is not free. uni-assist charges a handling fee of EUR 75 for the first application in a semester and EUR 30 for each further application in the same semester. The fee is not refunded whatever the outcome, and some universities cover it for their applicants.
