Requirements
Bachelor
Both the applicant and the applicant's parents must hold non-Korean nationality, and the applicant must have completed, or be expected to complete, primary and secondary education totalling at least 12 years; vocational schools are included but language courses, university preparatory courses, continuing or adult education, correspondence or internet courses, GED-style equivalency exams and China's Higher Education Self-Taught Examination System are not accepted. English Track applicants (ten listed fields) need IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 71 (4.0 on the redesigned scale) or New TEPS 327; Korean Track applicants need TOPIK level 2 to 4 depending on major, or an equivalent Sejong Language Center level, and must reach the graduating-level requirement before completing their degree regardless of entry route.
Master's and PhD
Sejong's General Graduate School and other graduate schools publish their own admission requirements and deadlines through the same One Stop Service Center portal, separate from this undergraduate guide.
Documents
Application form (completed online), secondary school transcripts and (expected) graduation certificate, proof of the applicant's and parents' nationality and family relationship, a language proficiency document (TOPIK, Sejong TOPIK, or an English test as applicable), and, after preliminary admission, a verification of deposit, final graduation certificate and transcript. Academic documents from outside Korea generally need translation and legalisation per Sejong's own guidance.
How to apply
- Confirm whether your intended major sits on the Korean Track or the English Track, and check the applicable language requirement.
- Apply online through the Sejong One Stop Service Center within your chosen round's window, and pay the KRW 150,000 application fee to complete submission.
- Post required documents to arrive at the One Stop Service Center by the fixed deadline; documents sent cash-on-delivery are refused.
- Attend an online pre-screening interview if your department requests one.
- Check your (provisional) admission decision and Guide for Admitted Students on the One Stop Service Center website.
- Pay tuition by the deadline for your round, then submit final required documents (verification of deposit, final graduation certificate and transcript) to receive your Certificate of Admission.
English test waiver
Sejong's Korean Track (most majors) accepts TOPIK level 3 (level 4 for Korean Language and Literature, Media and Communication and Business Administration; level 2 for Creative Studies, Arts and Physical Education) or an equivalent Sejong Korean Language Center level. Its English Track, covering International Affairs, Public Administration, Media and Communication, Business Administration, Economics, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Computer Science and Engineering, Comics and Animation Technology, Fashion Design and Contemporary Music (all majors taught entirely in English), instead requires IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 71 (4.0 on the redesigned scale), or New TEPS 327, with students from English-official-language countries exempt.
