Prince Sultan University Admission Requirements 2027

Prince Sultan University is a private, non-profit university in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, established in 1998 as Prince Sultan College and elevated to university status in 2003. It enrolled 7,130 students as of the figures published on its own site. Its graduate school offers five Master's programs open to international applicants, with tuition of SAR 5,000 per credit hour plus 15 percent VAT for non-Saudi students, and a TOEFL-iBT/IELTS requirement for applicants whose bachelor's degree was not earned in an English-speaking country.

Requirements

Bachelor

PSU's standard undergraduate route (Undergraduate Admission: High School Graduates, leading into the Preparatory Year Program) states as a general admission requirement: "The applicant must be a Saudi or GCC national or a legal resident of Saudi Arabia." Because of this stated restriction, that route is not open to international applicants who are not already resident in the Kingdom, so this record does not use it for bachelor's-level facts. PSU's own site gives no separate published bachelor's admission path for non-resident international applicants.

Master

  • A four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, completed as a full-time student. Bachelor's degrees earned through distance learning or part-time study are not accepted.
  • The bachelor's degree must be in a field matching the target program: any field for the MBA; Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline for the Master in Software Engineering; Cyber Security, Computer Science or a related discipline for the Master in Cybersecurity; Law for the Master of Commercial Law; and Engineering, Computing, Architecture or Design for the Master of Engineering Management.
  • A minimum GPA of "Very Good" (2.75 out of 4.00, or 3.75 out of 5.00). Applicants with a "Good" GPA (above 2.00 out of 4.00, or 3.00 out of 5.00) may still be considered, based on work experience, professional certification, leadership position, IELTS/TOEFL score, PGAT/GRE/GMAT score, and an interview.
  • English proficiency: TOEFL-iBT score of at least 70 (or 4 on the new 1-6 scale) or 520 on the paper-based TOEFL, or an IELTS score of at least 6.0 (General or Academic), taken within the last two years at an official test center. Applicants whose bachelor's degree was earned in a country whose native language is English are exempt.
  • A one-page (maximum two-page) resume in English, two letters of recommendation, and, for the Master of Commercial Law only, a statement of purpose.
  • GMAT, GRE or PGAT scores are not required for admission in general, but are required from applicants whose GPA is below "Very Good", and PGAT is required for anyone seeking a thesis-track scholarship in Engineering Management, Commercial Law, Cybersecurity or Software Engineering.

Documents

For the Master's application: bachelor's degree certificate and official transcript (full-time study only); TOEFL-iBT or IELTS score report taken within the last two years, unless exempt; a one-page (maximum two-page) resume in English listing academic and non-academic experience; two letters of recommendation (sent directly by referees to gradstudy@psu.edu.sa, or brought sealed to an interview); and, for the Master of Commercial Law program only, a statement of purpose. All required documents are uploaded through the online application portal.

How to apply

  1. Submit the online graduate application through PSU's application portal (edugate.psu.edu.sa) before the deadline of the application round you are applying in.
  2. Pay the non-refundable application fee of SAR 500 (plus 15 percent VAT for international applicants, making it SAR 575) via SADAD, bank transfer, or the university e-portal.
  3. Upload the required documents: bachelor's degree certificate and transcript, English test score report unless exempt, resume, and any program-specific documents such as the statement of purpose for Commercial Law.
  4. Arrange for two letters of recommendation to be sent directly by referees to gradstudy@psu.edu.sa, or bring them sealed to an interview if invited.
  5. If shortlisted, attend an admissions interview scheduled by the Admissions Committee.
  6. Receive the admission decision by email from the Graduate Studies Unit (gradstudy@psu.edu.sa) on the decision-release date of the round applied to (May 14, 2026 for round 1, or July 30, 2026 for round 2, in the 2026/2027 cycle).
  7. If admitted, submit original or certified copies of all credential documents, and pay the non-refundable SAR 3,000 pre-registration fee (credited toward tuition) to reserve a seat.
  8. Register for classes; for the 2026/2027 cycle, registration was scheduled for the week of August 2 to 6, 2026.

English test waiver

All applicants whose native language is not English must submit a TOEFL-iBT or IELTS score taken within the last two years. Graduating from an institution that uses English as the medium of instruction does not by itself exempt an applicant from this requirement. The one stated exemption is for applicants who obtained their bachelor's degree in a country whose native language is English. Only tests taken at official TOEFL or IELTS test centers are accepted for this graduate English requirement; online English tests are not accepted (note: PSU's separate undergraduate Preparatory Year English requirement is different and does accept online/remote Duolingo, TOEFL iBT Home Edition and IELTS Online results, but that undergraduate route is restricted to Saudi nationals, GCC nationals, or legal residents of Saudi Arabia, so it is not covered by this international record).
