Polytechnic University of Milan Admission Requirements 2027

Politecnico di Milano is Italy's largest technical university, specialising in engineering, architecture and design, based in Milan. Non-EU students requiring a visa pay tuition on an ISEE-linked scale that runs from EUR 157.04 to a maximum of EUR 3,943.04 a year.

Requirements

Bachelor

A secondary school qualification giving access to university study, plus, for some engineering and architecture programmes, an entrance test (TOL or equivalent). English-taught programmes ask for B2-level English.

Master

A bachelor's degree, or equivalent first-level qualification, in a field relevant to the chosen Laurea Magistrale, meeting a minimum GPA benchmark set by the programme. English-taught programmes ask for B2-level English, normally IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 78, unless exempt.

Documents

Passport, secondary school diploma or bachelor's degree certificate and transcript of records, a document attesting English language knowledge unless exempt, a passport photo, and, once admitted, the Universitaly pre-enrolment summary for applicants who need a study visa.

How to apply

Choose a programme and check its specific round dates on the foreign-qualification admission pages.
Apply online and upload the required documents before the round closes.
Wait for the outcome, published on the dates set for each round.
If admitted and a visa is needed, complete Universitaly pre-enrolment and apply for the study visa.
Enrol and pay the first instalment, then travel to Italy and register for the residence permit within eight days of arrival.

English test waiver

Applicants who can prove that English was the medium of instruction of their bachelor's degree for at least three years are exempt from providing an English certificate. Other accepted certificates include Cambridge (grade B or above for First, grade C or above for Advanced or Proficiency) and TOEIC.
