Requirements

Bachelor

UPJS Faculty of Medicine does not offer a separate bachelor's entry route for its English-taught programmes; General Medicine and Dental Medicine are both combined first-and-second-level (long-cycle) degree programmes.

Master

Not applicable in the same sense: the two English-taught programmes are long-cycle combined degrees entered directly after secondary school.

Combined first and second level (General Medicine and Dental Medicine)

• Secondary school leaving certificate (final diploma with grades), apostilled/superlegalised where required, with a notary-authorised Slovak translation.
• Medical confirmation of physical and mental fitness for university study, dated within the last 3 months.
• Copy of passport or national ID card.
• Proof of payment of the application and entrance-exam fee.
• Pass the written entrance examination in biology and chemistry (usual pass mark 75 percent), unless exempted under the faculty's specific prior-study conditions.
• A good command of English; no specific test score is published as a requirement.

Documents

Filled-in, signed and printed AiS2 application form; medical confirmation of fitness for study (in English or Slovak, signed, stamped and dated by a physician, not older than 3 months); copy of passport or ID card; proof of payment of the application and entrance-exam fee; notary-authorised copy of the apostilled (or superlegalised) school-leaving certificate together with its notary-authorised Slovak translation by a sworn translator.

How to apply

1. Register and complete the application form in the university's AiS2 electronic system at e-prihlaska.upjs.sk.
2. Print and sign the completed form.
3. Pay the non-refundable application and entrance-exam fee and keep proof of payment.
4. Gather supporting documents: medical fitness confirmation, passport/ID copy, and the apostilled/superlegalised school-leaving certificate with notarised Slovak translation.
5. Post the full set of documents to the Faculty of Medicine Study Department in Kosice by the stated deadline (the postmark date is decisive).
6. Sit the written entrance examination in biology and chemistry on the assigned date at the Faculty of Medicine in Kosice.
7. Check entrance-exam results on the faculty's dedicated results page.

English test waiver

The Faculty of Medicine does not publish a specific test score minimum (no IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or Duolingo threshold appears on its own pages). Its entrance examination page states only a general rule: "Since the language of instruction is English, applicants should possess a good command of English." No language certificate is listed among the required application documents.
