Admission at a glance

The National University of Mongolia admits international students under a rector's regulation in force since 1 March 2025. Applications are accepted in fixed periods each year, from 1 May to 1 July for the autumn semester and from 1 October to 1 December for the spring semester, and applications submitted after the official period are not accepted. Students entering Mongolian-taught degrees need a TOMFL certificate at level M3 or higher, or must complete the university's Mongolian preparatory programme with a GPA of at least 2.8 from the intermediate level; English-taught programmes do not require Mongolian. Graduate applicants need TOEFL iBT 60 or IELTS 5.5 before the professional entrance exam. For 2026-2027, the board of directors set international tuition per credit at the main Ulaanbaatar schools: MNT 512,000 for the preparatory year (MNT 10,752,000 a year), MNT 409,000 for bachelor's study (MNT 12,270,000 a year), MNT 757,000 for master's and MNT 818,000 for PhD study. Tuition is paid each semester. An English-taught joint master's programme costs MNT 303,000 a credit, or MNT 7,272,000 a year.
