Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München Tuition Fees 2027 for International Students

LMU Munich is one of Germany's largest and oldest public universities and charges no tuition fee to any student, regardless of nationality. Admission and English requirements are set separately by each institute, so applicants need to check both the university-wide International Office deadline and their chosen programme's own rules.

LMU has charged no tuition fee since the 2013/14 winter semester, for EU and non-EU students alike. Students instead pay a semester contribution to the Munich Studierendenwerk, with the exact rate set by the Studierendenwerk's own statutes and adjusted from time to time; a public transport semester ticket that used to be bundled into this fee was discontinued from the 2023/24 winter semester.
