Kyushu University is a national research university in Fukuoka and one of Japan's former imperial universities. It runs several International Undergraduate Programs taught in English, spanning engineering, bioresource and bioenvironmental science, and interdisciplinary science and innovation, admitting once a year for an October start.

Kyushu University participates in the Japanese government's MEXT scholarship and offers its own tuition and enrollment fee exemption or deferment for students who need it. Exchange students arriving through a university-level partnership agreement with a tuition waiver are exempt from Kyushu's own tuition.
