Kyushu University is a national research university in Fukuoka and one of Japan's former imperial universities. It runs several International Undergraduate Programs taught in English, spanning engineering, bioresource and bioenvironmental science, and interdisciplinary science and innovation, admitting once a year for an October start.

Kyushu University charges the standard national rate to every student regardless of nationality: JPY 535,800 a year in tuition, a JPY 282,000 admission (enrollment) fee, and a non-refundable entrance examination fee of JPY 17,000 for undergraduate applicants and JPY 30,000 for graduate applicants, for a first-year total of about JPY 834,800 for undergraduates. International students on a government scholarship, and exchange students from partner universities with a tuition waiver agreement, are exempt from these fees.
