Requirements
Bachelor
- Completion of a recognised Year 12 program or equivalent secondary qualification, to the standard set for the chosen course
- Course-specific prerequisite subjects where the course requires them
- English language proficiency at IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no component below 6.0, or an accepted equivalent (TOEFL iBT 74, no component below 18; PTE Academic 52, no component below 52); online test editions are not accepted
- IELTS 7.0 or an equivalent higher score for a small number of health-related courses, including nursing, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, psychology and occupational therapy
Documents
Academic transcripts and certificates for secondary (and any completed tertiary) study, evidence of English language proficiency, and a certified copy of the passport identity page.
How to apply
- Choose a course and check its entry requirements and English language requirement, including any country-specific academic level needed.
- Prepare academic transcripts and English test results.
- Apply directly to JCU online or through an education agent, by the closing date for the applicant's region and intake.
- Track the application and respond to any request for further documents.
- Receive and accept the offer.
- Arrange Overseas Student Health Cover and apply for a student visa.
English test waiver
The Band 1 standard (IELTS 6.0, no component below 6.0; TOEFL iBT 74, no component below 18; PTE Academic 52, no component below 52) applies to most undergraduate courses. IELTS 7.0 or an equivalent higher band applies to a group of health-related courses, including nursing, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, psychology and occupational therapy, which can also accept the Occupational English Test. Online test editions, including IELTS Online and TOEFL iBT Home Edition, are not accepted.
