Humboldt charges no tuition fee for regular Bachelor's and consecutive Master's programmes, for students of any nationality, since Berlin has not introduced a non-EU fee. A small number of separately funded continuing-education programmes, including some LL.M. degrees, charge their own fee, reported at roughly EUR 6,450 to EUR 7,500 a semester for those specific programmes; this is a programme-specific exception, not the general tuition policy. All students pay a semester contribution reported at around EUR 355, which includes a Germany-wide public transport ticket.
Applying through uni-assist is not free. uni-assist charges a handling fee of EUR 75 for the first application in a semester and EUR 30 for each further application in the same semester. The fee is not refunded whatever the outcome, and some universities cover it for their applicants.
