Requirements
Academy profession (AP) and bachelor's top-up programmes
Applicants need a Danish qualifying examination or a foreign qualification recognised as comparable to Danish upper secondary or academy profession level; the specific subject prerequisites depend on the programme, for example a prior AP degree in a related field for the Digital Concept Development top-up. Final exams must be completed by 5 July.
English proficiency: IELTS Academic or Indicator 6.5, TOEFL 94 (4.5 on the new banded scale) or TOEFL iBT Home Edition equivalent, Cambridge C1 Advanced 180 or C2 Proficiency 200, or the academy's own Oxford Online Placement Test at C1 (85 or more in each section). Applicants with the Danish upper secondary English B level (210 hours) are exempt from a separate test.
Documents
Academic transcripts and qualifying certificate, proof of English proficiency, a signed signature page for applicants without Danish MitID, and any programme specific attachments named on the individual programme's application checklist. All documentation must be attached before the application deadline; incomplete applications are followed up by the academy.
How to apply
- Confirm you are a non-EU applicant: a citizen of a country outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland, or a holder of a qualifying exam from outside those countries.
- Review the admission requirements and English test rule for the specific AP or top-up programme.
- Apply through optagelse.dk and upload the required attachments and signature page.
- Sit the academy's own English test if you do not already hold an accepted test score.
- Submit the complete application by the 15 March, 12:00 noon deadline.
- If admitted, pay the first semester's tuition before the semester starts (this deadline is programme specific).
- Apply for a Danish study residence permit through SIRI once a study place is confirmed.
English test waiver
Applicants who completed the Danish upper secondary English B level (at least 210 hours of English in the final three years) do not need a separate test; those with only C level English (125 hours) must pass an approved test or the academy's own Oxford Online Placement Test, taken at Business Academy Aarhus or an approved partner agency.
