English test waiver

BUT asks for English at CEFR B2 for its English-taught programmes, which it describes as equivalent to an IELTS score of 5.5 to 6.5, so 5.5 is the floor rather than a guarantee. The level has to be supported either by proof of previous education in English or by a language certificate; some programmes accept a school or university letter confirming English-medium instruction, and applicants from countries where English is an official language meet the requirement. Depending on the programme, English is checked by an English exam alongside the entrance exam or by the submitted certificate. BUT does not name a TOEFL or PTE score.
