The British University in Egypt was established by presidential decree in 2004 and welcomed its first students in September 2005 on its campus in El Sherouk City, on the outskirts of Cairo. Tuition for international students in 2026-2027 is charged in pounds sterling per academic year, from GBP 3,100 for Nursing to GBP 12,700 for Dentistry, before academic scholarships of up to 40%. Applicants need Academic IELTS 5.0, TOEFL 60 or the required school English mark.

Tuition for international students at the British University in Egypt in 2026-2027 is GBP 12,700 a year for Dentistry, GBP 11,000 for Engineering, GBP 10,850 for Informatics and Computer Science, GBP 10,500 for Business Administration, GBP 8,650 for the Pharm-D, GBP 7,950 for Political Science and GBP 3,100 for Nursing, before scholarships. Fees are paid in pounds sterling or the US dollar equivalent, cover one academic year and are subject to an annual increase of up to 10%. Accommodation for international students costs GBP 1,800 for a triple room, GBP 2,500 for a double and GBP 3,500 for a single. No application fee is published on the university's site.
