Belarusian State Medical University (BSMU) in Minsk admits foreign citizens to full-time General Medicine (6 years), Dentistry (5 years) and Pharmacy (5 years), which can be studied in English or in Russian, and to Paediatrics, which is taught in Russian only. Foreign citizens who live abroad and hold no certificate from a Belarusian preparatory department are admitted to the first year only on the results of an interview. The interview tests the language of instruction, which the applicant may choose to be English or Russian, with questions in biology and chemistry. For the 2026/2027 intake, documents for this interview route are accepted from 13 July 2026 to 15 October 2026, and only while free places remain. Applicants from countries with a visa regime first obtain an invitation to study from the university, which they need before they submit documents. The application form is filled in online, and the applicant pays a 70 US dollar fee for the review of documents and a 60 US dollar fee for the interview. Applicants who finish a preparatory department in Belarus follow a separate route with documents accepted from 4 July 2026 to 1 August 2026. After the interview, the university admission committee decides on enrolment. Tuition for 2026/2027 is set in US dollars, and English-medium General Medicine costs 6,300 US dollars a year. Foreign students pay in Belarusian roubles, converted at the National Bank rate on the payment day.

Requirements

Bachelor (first-stage higher education, General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy)

  • Complete secondary education certificate with the subjects studied and the marks obtained, recognised in Belarus, with a notarised Russian translation.
  • An invitation to study from BSMU when submitting documents.
  • An admission interview in English or Russian (applicant's choice) that includes biology and chemistry questions.
  • A medical examination in Belarus showing no contraindications to study, and a certificate of no HIV infection from the health authority of the applicant's country.
  • Compulsory medical insurance for citizens of countries under the Belarusian visa regime.

Master
