Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is based in central Auckland and is New Zealand's newest university, having gained university status in 2000. International undergraduate tuition for a full 120-point year in 2026 includes about NZD 38,122 for the Bachelor of Business, NZD 45,660 for the Bachelor of Design, and NZD 48,922 for the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Architectural or Civil Construction Engineering, with fees including the Student Services Levy. Admission requires secondary schooling equivalent to New Zealand's University Entrance standard, and English proficiency unless exempt: the standard undergraduate requirement is an IELTS Academic score of 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, though Architecture asks for 6.5 overall with every band at 6.0 or higher.
