Admission at a glance
The Asian Institute of Technology admits master's and doctoral students for January and August intakes, with recurring deadlines each year. For the August intake, overseas applicants who need an educational visa apply by 30 June and other applicants by 25 July, and AIT Scholarships close on 10 June; for the January intake, overseas applicants needing a visa apply by 20 December. The non-refundable processing fee is THB 800 or USD 25 and cannot be waived. The English requirement is met with an IELTS or AIT English Entry Test writing band of 6.0, equivalent to TOEFL iBT 80, and citizens of English-speaking countries are exempt. In the engineering, science and policy schools, tuition is THB 16,000 per credit plus a THB 20,000 registration fee each semester, so a 22-month master's of 48 credits costs about THB 855,600 in total and a doctorate THB 1,495,800, with living costs of about THB 11,500 to THB 15,000 a month. AIT Scholarships cover all or part of tuition fees for any nationality, and GWSC scholarships for master's study give priority to applicants from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Nepal.
