Computed from this project's own sample of 10 published Chinese universities researched for this file: IELTS 6.0 is the most common stated floor for an English taught track (Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Global College, Wuhan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Beijing Normal University's master's programmes, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology all state 6.0), Nanjing University's English major states 5.5, and Sun Yat-sen University, Tongji University and Tsinghua's representative graduate figure state 6.5. Peking University's stated figures are in TOEFL and GRE rather than IELTS. Most bachelor's degree programmes at these universities are taught in Chinese and instead ask for an HSK certificate, commonly HSK Level 5 with a score of at least 180.
