How to Apply to Universities in Slovakia (2027): Step by Step
Slovakia's Comenius University teaches General Medicine and Dentistry in English at two medical faculties, charging EUR 11,500 to EUR 14,500 a year, and runs English bachelor's and master's programmes from EUR 1,800 a year. Admission to medicine is by online biology and chemistry exams held several times a year. A student gets temporary residence for the purpose of study with no application fee, may work up to 80 hours a month, and can stay nine months after graduating to look for work.
Choose a faculty: Faculty of Medicine in Bratislava (General Medicine, Dentistry) or the Jessenius Faculty in Martin (General Medicine).
Register for an entrance exam date and pay the application fee (EUR 99 in Bratislava, EUR 70 in Martin). The Jessenius Faculty's 2027-28 deadlines are 6 March, 12 June and 23 July 2027; non-EU applicants should aim for the earliest date.
Sit the online exam in biology and chemistry.
Pay tuition before the semester begins in September.
Apply for temporary residence for the purpose of study in person at a Slovak embassy.
After arrival, take out health insurance within three working days of receiving the residence card and submit a medical report within 30 days.
